Basuki: I Become Governor Because of Good Teachers

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama is very grateful to the teachers who had taught him. According to him, becoming the number one in the capital city, one of them is because of the teacher services.

I could be like today (as governor) because I had good teachers. They encouraged me to attend school

"I could be like today (as governor) because I had good teachers. They encouraged me to attend school, taught prayer and read bible when I was at SMA PSKD 3," he said, at City Hall, Wednesday (11/25).

He admitted he still remembers Mr. Bonden, one of his teachers when he was still in SD in Gantong, East Belitung. Even, when returning hometown, he always took time to stay in touch to this teacher who have almost 90 years old.

Jakarta Needs More Flats Development, Basuki Says

"At that time, my father was a school donator. But if I was naughty, my teachers remain punished me," said Basuki.

Similar statement also experienced by his sister. At that time, his sister got into a fight. Consequently, she got sanction and failed the class. Even it was applicable to one class.

"They who dared to educate with love. This is important. For me, teacher knows very well to their students," he finished.
